CrystalMonitor is easy to install.
What I need to do before installation?
There are some dependencies.
- KDE 4.1+ on Linux (Windows, Mac, Solaris, BSD won't work because of some Linux specific commands used in theme; next version will maybe support these platform.
- lmsensors
- hddtemp
On Debian/Ubuntu based systems you can easily install dependencies. As root you type:
apt-get install hddtemp lmsensors
and follow on-screen instructions. Then you need to configure hddtemp and lmsensors. As root you type:
sensors-detect /etc/init.d/module-init-tools sudo dpkg-reconfigure hddtemp #IMPORTANT! Allow hddtemp to run with suid-root privileges! /etc/init.d/hddtemp restart
Follow on-screen instructions an again do not forget to allow hddtemp to run with suid-root privileges. You can test configuartion with hddtemp /dev/*da and sensors commands.
